Warne credits team effort for IPL triumph

By Staff
Mumbai, June 2: After a thrilling last-ball victory over Chennai Super Kings in the IPL final, Shane Warne, captain of the victorious Rajasthan Royals said his team was successful due to the fact that all players pulled their weight collectively and were not dependent on a few individuals like some others.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Warne said the highlight of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for him has been the successful journey of his team through the tournament and the spirit of the boys. The Australian spin legend also said that the IPL was making history in the game all over again and that it is here to stay. Those who are against this concept should have been to the games here and seen for themselves the passion and the level of cricket played.

''This is here to stay for sure,'' he remarked.

Meanwhile, losing captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni admitted today that his team was flat in the field with a few dropped catches.

''We had a few weak links in the field, but I have no complaints as the boys tried their best and reaching the final was satisfying,'' he said.
