Warne denies comeback comments

By Staff

Kolkata, May 21 (UNI) Taking a U-turn from his earlier statement, legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne has dismissed reports that he was considering a return to the Australian squad for the Ashes next summer.

''I am very happily retired. I am looking forward to spending my time with my children and work for charity,'' Warne told mediapersons after leading the Rajasthan Royals to a six wicket victory over hosts Kolkata Knight Riders in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here yesterday.

The 38-year-old had earlier stated that he would like to play in the Ashes series against England next summer if Stuart MacGill is ruled out due to injury.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Cricket Australia had dismissed the possibilities of Warne making a return to the international arena.
