Warne's mentor to train young Indian spinners in September

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Terry Jenner, the man behind the making of Australia's champion spinner Shane Warne, will visit Chennai in September to coach a group of young aspiring spin bowlers.

Jenner, a former Australian leg-spinner will pass on his 'magic mantra' to 30 of the country's brightest young spinners at the MAC Spin Foundation in Chennai.

Jenner's visit is a part of the MAC Spin Foundation's programme, which aims at recognising and nurturing quality spin bowlers in India.

''The Foundation will foster the delicate art of spin bowling to its highest form and guide promising youngsters from all over the country through a series of intensive training programmes.

Internationally acclaimed past masters of the art will be requisitioned to train these youngsters,'' Dr AC Muthiah told Cricketnext.com.

In 2003, when India toured Australia, champion leg-spinner Anil Kumble also had a meeting with Jenner.

''The meeting arranged by Shane Warne was very helpful. Whenever two leg-spinners meet, they tend to talk about the craft. Jenner shared his experiences, saw me bowl at the nets a couple of time and shared some thoughts about my bowling,'' Kumble said about his only meeting with the master craftsman.

Besides, training the Australian Academy bowlers, the former Australian leg-spinner who played nine Tests for his country between 1970 and 1975, also trained the New Zealand and Zimbabwe spinners.
