Washington Freedom will be one of the six teams who take part in the inaugural Major League Cricket season.
The six-team franchise T20 tournament starts in July in the United States of America and Freedoms are based in the capital city of Washington D.C.

They have named Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques as captain, whereas South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje, and Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga have also been included in the squad. South African all-rounder Marco Jansen, New Zealand duo Glenn Phillips and Adam Milne are also going to take part in the inaugural MLC season.
Local USA players such as Saurabh Netravalkar, Andries Gous are also in the team. Netravalkar, who has been doing well with the ball in the ongoing ICC World Cup qualifiers, is set to be an important member of the team.

Greg Shipperd has been appointed as the head coach of Washington Freedom, whereas former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn has been appointed as bowling coach.
Washington Freedom is owned by Sanjay Govil. Govil is an Indian-American business executive. He is chairman of the board for Infinite Computer Solutions.
The Freedoms will be playing their first match against Seattle Orcas on July 15. They will be playing five matches in the group stages. Here is a complete fixtures list of Washington Freedom in MLC 2023-
