A video has surfaced on X, formerly Twitter, which is purportedly showing MS Dhoni smoking a hookah. In a seemingly videotaped social event, the two-time World Cup-winning captain can be seen puffing on a hookah pipe and letting out smoke.

It's unclear right now how old the footage is or how recent it is. The authenticity of the video can't be confirmed by myKhel. Social media users have responded to the video in various ways. Many people were surprised to see the footage because MS Dhoni has always been recognised for his physical prowess.

Former Australia captain George Bailey, who captained the Dhoni-led Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL, disclosed to Cricket.com.au last year that Dhoni enjoys smoking hookah. Bailey said that Dhoni would frequently set it up in his room, where other players would congregate to enjoy the Hookah and discuss cricket.

"He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much an open-door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there. For India or a lot of other cricket teams, it can be hierarchical, but he certainly broke that down."

MS Dhoni is expected to lead the side during the IPL 2024 later this year as the former India captain said multiple times last year that he is not ending his career yet and will take the decision on his retirement when the IPL 2024 nears and if he feels at his physical prowess to participate. He was retained by CSK for the next season.
