WATCH: Prince Yadav Castles Inform Irish Captain Lorcan Tucker On T20I Debut

Indian pacer Prince Yadav enjoyed a memorable moment on his T20I debut by claiming his maiden wicket in the format, dismissing Ireland captain Lorcan Tucker during the second T20I of the series at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast on Sunday, June 28. The breakthrough came in the eighth over of Ireland's innings as the young fast bowler removed the experienced Tucker for a sluggish 15 off 18 deliveries, leaving the hosts reeling at 48/3.

Playing his first T20I for India, Prince made an immediate impact after captain Shreyas Iyer opted to bowl first. Tucker, who had struggled to accelerate against India's disciplined bowling attack, attempted to rebuild the innings but was undone by Prince's sharp spell.

The wicket came on the third ball of the eighth over and further strengthened India's grip on the contest. At the end of the first 10 overs, Ireland were restricted to 58/3, with Harry Tector unbeaten on 16 off 22 balls and Ben Calitz batting on 5 off 7.

ODI Redemption For Prince Yadav

The dismissal also marked a moment of redemption for the Delhi and Lucknow Super Giants pacer. Earlier this month, Prince endured heartbreak on his ODI debut against Afghanistan when what appeared to be his maiden international wicket was wiped out after the delivery was adjudged a no-ball. This time, there was no such disappointment as he celebrated his first official wicket in Indian colours.

Prince's breakthrough continued India's strategy of giving opportunities to emerging fast bowlers in bilateral T20I series. His composed performance under pressure highlighted the depth of India's pace resources and justified the team management's faith in the youngster.

The second T20I also presented a contrasting picture to the series opener. In the first match, Ireland had recovered from 36/3 in the powerplay to post a competitive total before securing a historic 34-run victory. This time, however, India's bowlers maintained control throughout the first half of the innings, with Prince Yadav's maiden T20I wicket emerging as one of the defining moments of the early exchanges.
