Former Indian cricket captain and ex-head coach Rahul Dravid was involved in a minor road accident in Bengaluru on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred on Cunningham Road when a goods auto reportedly rammed into Dravid's car from behind.
This caused his vehicle to jolt forward and make contact with the car in front. According to reports from IANS and TV9 Kannada, the accident happened around 4 PM while Dravid was traveling from Indian Express Junction towards High Grounds.

A viral video of the aftermath shows Dravid engaged in a heated argument with the auto driver in Kannada. Though his exact words are unclear, mentions of brakes can be heard in the clip. Witnesses reported that Dravid was visibly upset.
He stepped out to inspect the damage before taking down the auto driver's contact details and vehicle registration number. Despite the tense exchange, no injuries were reported, and no police complaint has been filed regarding the incident.
Dravid, known for his calm demeanor on and off the field, rarely loses his cool in public. His visible frustration in the video has drawn attention on social media, with many users expressing surprise at seeing the cricketing legend in an animated argument.
As per Deccan Herald, the altercation did not escalate beyond verbal exchanges, and Dravid left the scene after noting the necessary details. The Times of India Bengaluru confirmed that neither party suffered any harm and that the matter did not require police intervention.
Following his tenure as India's head coach, which ended with the team's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph, Dravid has returned to the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR). He was actively involved in the IPL 2025 mega auction, where RR made headlines by signing 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Suryavanshi was the youngest-ever player to be bought in an IPL auction. With the IPL season approaching, Dravid is focused on his coaching duties, but the recent road accident in Bengaluru has momentarily put him in the spotlight for reasons beyond cricket.
