WCL 2025: How Much Prize Money Did South Africa Champions And Pakistan Get After Final Clash?

WCL 2025: AB de Villiers turned back the clock with a sensational century as South Africa Champions crushed Pakistan Champions by nine wickets in the final of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, held at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 196, the South Africans made it look effortless, reaching the finish line with more than three overs to spare. Leading the charge was de Villiers, who smashed a breathtaking 120 not out off just 60 balls, peppered with 12 fours and 7 sixes. This marked his third hundred of the tournament, capping off a phenomenal run with the bat and sealing an emphatic campaign for his side.

The victory not only earned South Africa the coveted WCL trophy but also a cash prize of USD 200,000 - approximately ₹1.66 crore INR or PKR 5.58 crore. Pakistan Champions, as runners-up, walked away with USD 100,000, which translates to around ₹83 lakh INR or PKR 2.79 crore.

de Villiers shared an explosive 145-run partnership with JP Duminy, who remained unbeaten on 50 off 28 balls, ensuring there were no further hiccups after the dismissal of Hashim Amla (18), who fell to Saeed Ajmal just as the powerplay ended.

Earlier, Pakistan Champions had put up a strong total of 195/5 after choosing to bat. Sharjeel Khan was the standout performer with a fluent 76 off 44 balls, supported by useful cameos from Umar Amin (36 off 19)* and Asif Ali (28 off 15) in the death overs. Hardus Viljoen and Wayne Parnell bagged two wickets apiece for South Africa, while Duanne Olivier chipped in with one.

Despite Pakistan's competitive total, they were no match for De Villiers' brilliance on the night. The South Africa Champions walked away with the title and the lion's share of the prize money, wrapping up a memorable WCL 2025 campaign in dominant fashion.
