WCL 2025: 18 Balls in One Over! Crazy Moment Unfolds as Pakistan Champions vs Australia Champions Match Ends Early

WCL 2025: The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 clash between Pakistan Champions and Australia Champions at Grace Road, Leicester, ended in dramatic fashion - and much earlier than expected.

Pakistan chased down a modest target of 75 in just 7.5 overs to seal a dominant 10-wicket victory, but the headline-grabbing moment came during a chaotic over bowled by Australian pacer John Hastings.

John Hastings' Nightmare Over: 12 Wides, 1 No-Ball, 5 Legal Deliveries

With Pakistan coasting at 55 for no loss after seven overs, skipper Brett Lee turned to Hastings in a last-ditch effort to apply pressure. Instead, the 39-year-old fast bowler lost complete control of his line and length, producing one of the most bizarre overs in T20 history.

Hastings began his spell with five consecutive wides, unable to find his rhythm. After two legal deliveries, he bowled a no-ball, then followed it up with yet another wide. While he did manage to sneak in a dot ball, the over ended with another sequence of five wides, meaning it took more than 15 deliveries to complete a six-ball over - but only five of them were legal.

His wayward bowling added a flurry of extras to Pakistan's score and allowed openers Sharjeel Khan (32* off 23) and Sohaib Maqsood (28* off 26) to finish the chase within that very over. The pair didn't even need to take risks, as wides and no-balls did most of the job.

AUS-C Crumble with the Bat

Earlier, Australia Champions had a dismal outing with the bat. They were skittled out for just 74 in 11.5 overs, with Ben Dunk top-scoring with 26 off 14. Pakistan's spin wizard Saeed Ajmal wreaked havoc, returning figures of 6 for 16 and walking away with the Player of the Match award.

Pakistan's victory, sealed with 73 balls to spare, highlighted their clinical dominance - but it was John Hastings' over that will be talked about long after the tournament ends.
