Perth, Feb 27: United Arab Emirates' (UAE) captain Mohammad Tauqir admitted that Indian players were "big stars" but won't be "intimidated" by their names or status.

UAE will face defending champions India in a Pool B match at WACA ground on Saturday (February 28). This will the first ever World Cup meeting between the sides.
Speaking to the media on the eve of the match, UAE skipper said they would this clash as any other game. "We know they are big stars, but we will take this game like the last previous two games. This intensity is going to be the same, and we'll take it like just another game. We will not be intimidated by their names or their status," the right-handed batsman Tauqir said on Friday. The 42-year-old Tauqir has played 7 One Day Internationals and scored 89 runs in 5 innings. He has also taken 8 wickets with his offspin.
Tauqir made his ODI debut against India in 2004 and struck a half century in Asia Cup at Dambulla (Sri Lanka) against a bowling attack comprising Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble and others.
This will be UAE's third game of World Cup 2015. They lost to Zimbabwe and Ireland. However, Tauqir maintains that they are improving all the time and the games were close.
'We are improving'
"As I said, if you look at the Zimbabwe game and the game against Ireland, yes, definitely there was an improvement in the overall performance. The Zimbabwe was over in 47th and 14th over, and Ireland went up to the last over.
"So we need to finish the game now and get over the line and win this. So as we said, we're getting closer to the victory. Everybody's enjoying this event and playing a good cricket," he said.
UAE team is made up of shipping clerks and airline staff. They are not full time cricketers. There are two Indian born players in the Gulf side - Krishna Chandran and Swapnil Patil.
UAE are playing at a World Cup for the second time, after 1996. They came through the qualifying rounds.
