We cherish memories of playing with Phil Hughes: Team India

Adelaide, Nov 27: The Indian team which is in Australia, joined the rest of the cricketing world in offering its condolences to the family of Phil Hughes, who passed away today.

Australia Test opener Hughes, 25, died in a Sydney hospital on Thursday (November 27) after he was hit in the head by a bouncer during a match on Tuesday. Hughes underwent surgery but never regained consciousness.

"The touring Indian team joins the cricketing fraternity across the world in offering condolences to the family of Phillip Hughes, who has departed from our midst," the touring Indian team said in a statement released by Cricket Australia (CA).

India and Australia are to play a four-Test series starting in Brisbane on December 4. India will face CA XI in a two-day practice game from tomorrow in Adelaide but that remains in doubt after this tragic news.
