We did nothing wrong to be sorry: Gilchrist

By Staff

Sydney, Jan 7 (UNI) ''We did nothing wrong on or off the field to be sorry,'' Australia vice-captain Adam Gilchrist has asserted.

Making light of Indian skipper Anil Kumble's reported remarks about the lack of sportsman spirit among the hosts, Gilchrist said ''Though I have not seen his comments or heard him, but that's what I have been told about. I think that's not right.'' ''Definitely we don't feel so and we are not sorry about anything. I do not know what he is referring to,'' Gilchrist told CNN-IBN.

Kumble, had earlier said that only one team was playing in the true spirit of the game.

Gilchrist was not bit concerned about thue and cry being raised by the Indian team and their fans back home saying the Australian deserved to win and we are enjoying the victory.

''We obviously enjoyed the end result. Both the teams at any point of time in the game could say they have the upper hand and the other time forth back,'' he said.

''So it's topsy-turvy and we just grabbed it from the jaws of the draw I guess. At the end it was thrill. At some of the controversial ground, there was lot of talking points but yes look we got through,'' he added.
