We need to score at least 330 or more, says MS Dhoni after 2nd ODI loss

Brisbane, Jan 15: Disappointed with India's 2nd successive loss to Australia even after scoring 300 plus, captain MS Dhoni said they need at least 330 or more to put pressure on the opposition batsmen.

On Friday (January 15), Australia defeated India by 7 wickets in the 2nd ODI. They successfully chased down 309, a record at the Gabba ground. In the 5-match series opener in Perth, the hosts had overhauled 309 to emerge victorious by 5 wickets.

Disappointment for MS Dhoni and India, again

Having witnessed his bowlers failing to defend two 300 plus totals in the space of 4 days, Dhoni felt the need of more runs. Also, for the 2nd match in a row, Rohit Sharma's fine century went in vain. After a record 171 not out in Perth, he hit 124 today. (Series photo gallery)

"'It's a tough one (losing 2 in a row). It seems we will have to score some big runs. Scoring back-to-back 300 (plus) scores is good. But looking at our bowling performance, we at least need to get 330 or more to put some pressure on the Australians," Dhoni said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

The third ODI is in Melbourne on Sunday (January 17).
