Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has opened up on his contrasting on-field and off-field relationship with MS Dhoni.
The two stalwarts have served India for a long time. The duo were part of the World Cup-winning team in 2011, where Yuvraj was instrumental as he won the Man of the Series. Dhoni was the captain in 2011, and also led India to win the T20 World Cup in 2007, in which Yuvraj played a massive part as well.

The duo were dynamic on the field and together formed many partnerships to win matches for India, but Yuvraj has revealed they were not friends off the field.
Yuvraj recently spoke on the TRS Podcast, a YouTube channel and stated it was cricket which brought them closer and they were not close friends off the field.
"Mahi and I are not close friends. We were friends because of cricket, we played together. Mahi's lifestyle was very different from mine, so we were never close friends, we were only friends because of cricket," Yuvraj said.
Yuvraj also revealed that it was Dhoni, whom he turned for advice during his final days as an India player. And the player says Dhoni provided him the clarity on his status at the Indian team, neither then captain Virat Kohli of coach Ravi Shastri.
"When I was at the end of my career, when I wasn't getting the right picture about my career, I asked him for advice," he added.
"He was the guy who told me that the selection committee is not looking at you right now. I was like, at least I got to know the real picture. This is just before the 2019 World Cup. That is the reality," Yuvraj concluded.
