Birmingham, July 22: Australian cricket great Brett Lee has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of the ongoing World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, confidently backing the Australia Champions to go all the way this year.
Speaking during a high-energy fan interaction event hosted by GFS Developments and AX Capital, the legendary speedster said his team was motivated, well-balanced, and fully focused on lifting the coveted trophy.

The WCL 2025, sanctioned by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), is underway in England from July 18 to August 2, across four iconic venues. The tournament has rekindled fierce rivalries from yesteryears, featuring legendary players from six cricketing giants - India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies - and offering fans a unique blend of nostalgia and top-tier action.
"We are definitely going for the title this year," Brett Lee asserted. "Last season, we came close but fell short. This year, we are fully charged and aiming to win the trophy - not just for ourselves, but for the fans and incredible partners like GFS Developments who support us."
Lee added, "This is a well-rounded side. We have depth in all departments and a good mix of experience and power. There's every reason to feel confident about our campaign."
The Australia Champions squad is stacked with explosive names such as Shaun Marsh, Aaron Finch, Chris Lynn, and Ben Cutting, alongside Lee, making them one of the strongest contenders in the tournament.
Speaking on the team's collaboration, GFS Developments Chairman Mr. Irfan Wahid said, "We're proud to partner with a team that represents excellence, resilience, and performance. Just as we build communities with passion and vision, these cricket legends are inspiring a new generation by proving that greatness has no age."
The WCL 2025 is not short on firepower, with a galaxy of stars lighting up the tournament - including Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Moeen Ali, DJ Bravo, Hashim Amla, Kieron Pollard, and many more.
