Roston Chase emphasised the importance of allowing his West Indies team to play their natural game, which was key in securing a dominant series win over South Africa. In the rain-affected third T20I on Tuesday, the Windies triumphed by eight wickets, chasing down the Proteas' revised target of 108 runs in just 9.2 overs.
The visitors had reached 23 runs without loss before play was halted at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Upon resumption, Tristan Stubbs scored 40 runs from 15 balls. Contributions from Aiden Markram (20) and Reeza Hendricks (27) helped South Africa's total, with Romario Shepherd taking figures of 2-14 for the Windies.

Despite losing Alick Athanaze early for one run after just four balls, Shai Hope (42) and Nicholas Pooran (35) gave the hosts a strong position. Shimron Hetmyer's quickfire 31 from 17 balls sealed the victory. West Indies captain Chase praised his teammates for playing their natural game in this shorter format.
"It was a good one [leading this time]. We wanted to win the series 3-0. I just asked the boys to give me victory because you want to start well," Chase said. "The powerplay, we were doing well. I just thought that today the guys came out and applied pressure early. In a shortened game, we want guys to go and play their natural game. Guys came out and played brilliantly."
Romario Shepherd was named man of the match for his impressive bowling performance, taking crucial wickets of Ryan Rickelton (27) and Markram. The 29-year-old was not part of the Windies squad for the T20 World Cup in June but relished avenging their three-wicket defeat against South Africa at that tournament.
"It's just about sticking to the process. Today was quite difficult because of the wet ball. The wicket was sticky," Shepherd said. "I think I'm 70% there. You are never 100% in T20 cricket. To come and clean sweep the team which knocked us out of the World Cup was great."
The West Indies' ability to adapt quickly under challenging conditions showcased their resilience and skill in T20 cricket.
This series win highlights West Indies' potential as they continue to build momentum in international cricket.
