Four international cricketers from West Indies have announced their retirement from international cricket on Thursday (January 18).

Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed the news, marking the culmination of their illustrious careers.

The quartet has been synonymous with success and resilience, playing pivotal roles in the West Indies' cricket landscape. Their journey was crowned with glory when they were part of the victorious squad that clinched the 2016 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in India.

Anisa Mohammed, in particular, has been a beacon of excellence for over two decades. She made her debut in 2003, and over the last two decades, Anisa has donned the maroon cap in 141 ODIs and 117 T20Is. Her prolific career saw her accruing an impressive haul of 305 wickets across all formats. In a groundbreaking milestone, Mohammed etched her name in the record books in 2016 by becoming the first player, regardless of gender, to capture 100 wickets in T20I cricket.

"The last 20 years have been truly amazing. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. The highs and the lows. I believe the time has come for me to step away from the game and allow the young players to live their dreams as I have lived mine," Anisa Mohammed said after her retirement.

"I was privileged enough to step onto the field wearing my maroon 258 times in my career. I have represented West Indies in five (5) ODI World Cups and seven (7) T20 World Cups. To my fellow teammates, thank you for all the love and respect shown to me during my time with you. You'll have made my journey a memorable experience," she added.

Shakera Selman has represented the West Indies in the limited overs format and has 208 wickets to her name.

Kycia Knight and Kyshona Knight - the twin sisters also announced their adios from international cricket. Kycia made her debut in 2011 and has the records of most dismissals (5) by a keeper in Women's T20Is. Her sister Kyshona played for the first time in 2013 and has 1397 runs in 106 matches for West Indies.

It has come as a surprise as all four players decided to announce their retirement on the same day.
