The 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle continues as West Indies host South Africa in a two-match series, starting with the first Test from Wednesday (August 7) to Sunday (August 11) at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.

The action will then shift to Guyana, where the National Stadium will play hosts for the second Test from August 15 to August 19 before the three-match T20I series concludes the tour the following week in Tarouba.

West Indies led by Kraigg Brathwaitte welcome back experienced pacer Kemar Roach in to the squad as vice captain Alzarri Joseph was rested to manage work load. Kevin Sinclair also missed out from retaining his spot from the England tour as the spinner continues his recovery from an injury.

The home side have named a squad which is very similar to the one that played in England in the recent Test series with Keacy Carty and the uncapped Bryan Charles the only players without a Test cap.

The visitors led by Temba Bavuma have named a strong squad, featuring the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs among other Test playing regulars. Gerald Coetzee, who was named in the squad, was ruled out and Migael Pretorius was named his replacement.

As mentioned earlier, the series will be a part of the World Test Championship cycle. The Windies are currently languishing at the bottom of the table with a point percentage of 22.22 following consecutive losses to England. Meanwhile, the Proteas are positioned 7th with a point percentage of 25%.
