MS Dhoni is considered one of the greatest captains in the history of cricket. But he is not only known for his on-field achievements but also for his off-field stories, which makes him different and unique from the rest of the lot.

In the 2016 IPL season, Dhoni captained the team owned by Goenka. However, the franchise decided to part ways with him after the team failed to reach the playoffs in its inaugural season.

Goenka shared an anecdote, when Dhoni took time to interact with his grandson, a young cricket enthusiast, teaching him and answering his questions with patience. This gesture reflects Dhoni's admirable human qualities and the deep connection he has with his fans, especially when playing against Lucknow, where the crowd always supports him.

"I have an 11-year-old grandson who is crazy about cricket. Dhoni in my home taught him how to play cricket, some 5-6 years ago. He constantly asked him questions, and I told my grandson, 'Leave him now.' Dhoni replied, 'Let it be; I am enjoying this conversation.' Dhoni went on to have a conversation with him for half an hour. This human quality with a kid where he spent so much time for a kid. It makes you learn how to speak with others, and that is why he is Dhoni. Whenever he plays against Lucknow, the entire stadium is filled with yellow to support him," the 63-year-old said on the TRS Show.

All the speculations were put to bed after MS Dhoni was retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for 4 crore, where the CSK legend will act as an 'uncapped player', since he didn't feature for the Indian side in the last 5 years in international cricket.
