Pakistan has been consistent in their inconsistency in the T20 World Cup 2024. They have already suffered a massive disaster after getting beaten at the hands of USA in their opener in Dallas.
As Pakistan take on India today in New York, the motto of the Pakistan team has to be clear, which is nothing but a victory.

Babar Azam and his troops were abysmal in the match against USA, and if they continue that against India, Rohit Sharma's men will grill them. It is going to be a herculean task for Pakistan to get their campaign back on track, and a victory over India will restore the status quo.
But what happens if Pakistan is beaten at the hands of India? The Men in Green have only one victory out of seven meetings in the T20 World Cup against India, and the way they are playing recently, it looks like only a matter of time to stay as 1 out of 8 matches.
But for Pakistan, they simply can't afford it. If Pakistan loses the match against India, their hopes of qualifying for the Super Eights will be in tatters. As USA have won their first two matches, one victory for the co-hosts in their next two matches will ensure Pakistan's elimination from the T20 World Cup this year.
It undoubtedly will be a mammoth blow for the Pakistan faithful if they are ousted from the group stages, but it will also jeopardize their qualification for the next edition of the T20 World Cup.
As per ICC rules, the Top Eight teams will qualify for the next edition of the T20 World Cup directly, which is set to take place in India in 2026. If Pakistan fail to advance to the super eights in this edition, they will have to play in the qualifiers to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2026.
