When will India's T20 World Cup be announced? That's the question on the minds of all the Indian cricket team fans at the moment. The IPL 2024 fever has once again engulfed the country but the anticipation to know the India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 is higher.

MyKhel.com got in touch with their sources and have come to know that there is a chance of the squad being announced on Saturday, April 27 - the day when Mumbai Indians (MI) play Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital.

India captain Rohit Sharma will be in Delhi for the match, and is expected to join a meeting with the BCCI selection panel led by Ajit Agarkar. Rohit recently revealed that Agarkar was holidaying in golf, and head coach Rahul Dravid was watching his kids play cricket.

Notably, the India squad for Asia Cup 2023 was also announced from Delhi. Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar had also held a press conference after the squad announcement.

India T20 World Cup Squad Announcement Date

The ICC deadline for all the 20 participating teams to announce their respective squads is May 1. In case the selection meeting is held late on April 27, BCCI should release the final squad on Sunday (April 28), Monday (April 29) and Tuesday (April 30).

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh are certain to find a spot in India's T20 World Cup squad. Hardik Pandya, who is having an unimpressive IPL 2024 season and hasn't played for India since October, will be the biggest topic of discussion.

Eyes will also be on the wicketkeeper-batter slot. Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson are leading the race, but the selectors will have a tough call to take considering the number of options available. Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul have also played some fine innings in the IPL 2024 to make a case for themselves.

The T20 World Cup 2024 starts from June 2. India will kick off their campaign against Ireland on June 5. The event will be held in the West Indies and the USA.
