IND vs BAN T20I: India is set to manage the workload of several key players ahead of their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, scheduled to begin on October 7.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is focusing on the upcoming Test matches, which are more critical for India's goals in the World Test Championship (WTC) and the ICC Champions Trophy.

Among the prominent names to be rested is vice-captain Shubman Gill. A key figure in India's Test setup, Gill's rest is crucial due to the quick turnaround between the T20I series and the upcoming New Zealand Tests, starting just three days after the final T20I on October 13.
Gill, who has played 21 T20Is and has a notable strike rate of nearly 140, was recently appointed captain for the Zimbabwe series. However, with India's packed schedule of 10 Tests in the WTC, his presence will be essential in the longer format.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, India's ace pacers, are also likely to be rested. Both players have been vital in India's bowling lineup, especially with the WTC campaign and a crucial five-Test series against Australia on the horizon.
Their rest during the T20Is against Bangladesh will allow younger pacers to get a chance while also ensuring Bumrah and Siraj remain fresh for the Test matches and future competitions.
There are also doubts surrounding Rishabh Pant's participation in the T20I series. Having made his return to cricket in March after a lengthy absence, Pant has played continuous cricket, including his upcoming Test matches.
With New Zealand Tests following the Bangladesh series closely in the gap of three days, the team management may decide to rest him to ensure he remains fit and available for the longer formats, where his contribution will be more critical.
India's decision to rest these players aligns with the BCCI's workload management policy, which places a higher priority on Tests and ODIs this season, especially with the WTC and Champions Trophy on the line.
