Anshul Kamboj makes his India debut in the 4th Test against England in Manchester Today (July 23). The India pacer has replaced injured Akash Deep for the encounter.
Kamboj was included in the side for the last two Tests after injuries to Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep. The Haryana-born pacer has made his name in recent times with excellent domestic outings, and now goes straight into the Indian side.

Anshul Kamboj, born on December 6, 2000, in Karnal, Haryana, is India’s latest fast-bowling sensation. Hailing from an agricultural family, Kamboj began his cricketing journey at Rana Brothers’ Cricket Academy in his hometown. His cricket rise was fueled by determination and a relentless work ethic, leading him to represent Haryana in age-group cricket and then at the senior level. He further honed his skills at the National Cricket Academy under the guidance of V.V.S. Laxman.
Kamboj made his mark in domestic cricket with Haryana. He debuted in first-class cricket on February 17, 2022, against Tripura in the Ranji Trophy. He followed this with his List A debut in November 2022 and his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy the same year. His early performances were characterized by sharp seam movement, lively pace, and consistent accuracy.
First recognized for his limited-overs exploits, Kamboj took 7 wickets in 7 matches during the 2022–23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, before a breakout 2023–24 Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign, where he snared 17 wickets in 10 games and played a pivotal role in Haryana’s maiden title win. These performances propelled him to the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 IPL, before Chennai Super Kings secured his services for INR 3.4 crore in the 2025 IPL Mega Auction.
His red-ball success skyrocketed when he took all ten wickets in an innings, 10/49 against Kerala— in a 2024 Ranji Trophy match, becoming only the third bowler in Ranji history to achieve this feat. He ended the 2024/25 Ranji season with 74 wickets in 22 matches at an average of 22.66, cementing his reputation as a prolific wicket-taker in Indian domestic cricket.
