Ashok Sharma was born on June 17, 2002, in Rajasthan and developed a reputation as a genuine swing bowler capable of troubling batters with the new ball.

One of the biggest turning points in Ashok's career came when he joined the Rajasthan Royals setup as a net bowler. Working alongside established international stars allowed him to sharpen his skills while also catching the attention of coaches and scouts. His performances during training sessions earned widespread praise and eventually led to interest from IPL franchises.

Ashok first entered the IPL spotlight during the 2022 auction, when Kolkata Knight Riders secured his services for ₹55 lakh after beating competition from Rajasthan Royals. Although he did not get an opportunity to make his IPL debut that season, the experience of being part of an IPL dressing room proved invaluable in his development as a fast bowler.

His breakthrough came over the next few years through domestic cricket and the Rajasthan Premier League, where he consistently picked up wickets and showcased his ability to bowl in different phases of a T20 innings. Those performances convinced Rajasthan Royals to bring him back into their squad before the 2025 season, while his continued growth eventually earned him another IPL opportunity. Ahead of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans invested ₹90 lakh in the young pacer, underlining the growing belief in his potential.

The 2026 IPL season finally gave Ashok Sharma his long-awaited opportunity for the Titans. Featuring in six matches, the young pacer claimed six wickets while regularly troubling batters with his pace and movement. One of the highlights of his campaign was a fiery delivery clocked at 154.2 kmph, one of the fastest balls of the season.

His consistent wicket-taking ability in the shortest format, coupled with his performances in the IPL, ultimately paved the way for his maiden senior India call-up for the Zimbabwe T20I series. For a bowler who once spent his time delivering balls to established stars as a net bowler, making his international debut marks patience and hard work.
