The ICC World Cup 2023 round-robin stage is reaching its halfway mark with hosts India leading the table with five wins out of five. But when it comes to run-scoring, South Africa's star opener Quinton de Kock has leapfrogged the Indian duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to become the leading run-getter in the competition.
De Kock slammed an imperious ton against Bangladesh on Tuesday (October 24) and it was also his third century in the ongoing 10-team extravaganza. De Kock - who was playing his 150th ODI for SA - became the first batter to cross the 400-run mark.

As of now, South Africa's Quinton de Kock is ahead of others in the race for Golden Bat. We take a look at the list of highest run-getters in the list below and those who are in the reckoning for the Golden Bat race.

Both the Indian batting superstars Kohli and Rohit are scoring runs in bulk in the ICC World Cup 2023 while the New Zealand duo of Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra scored big in the losing cause to put themselves in the reckoning.
Virat Kohli has been in splendid form this ICC World Cup 2023 as the batter scored a century against Bangladesh in the last game at the MCA International Stadium in Pune. His century came off the last ball of the match as he kept all the strikes and the match was well within India's grasp by that time.
The urgency to hit a hundred was understandable as the 34-year-old Indian batter got out after scoring 85 against Australia in India's first match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Kohli scored an 82 not out against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad after Pakistan were bundled out for just 192 runs.
India will next play their match against defending champions England at the Ekana Sporty City Stadium in Lucknow next Sunday (October 29). Virat Kohli scored 443 runs at the last ICC World Cup 2019 in Englan while Rohit Sharma took the Golden Bat with 648 runs. Virat Kohli is also a century away from matching Sachin Tendulkar in the ODIs.
