Earlier on Saturday, Rohit Sharma climbed to fourth place on the list with a crucial knock of 87 runs against England, which set up the tone for the win before pacers Mohammed Shami (4/22) and Jasprit Bumrah (3/32) packed England for just 129 runs.
In-form Virat Kohli missed out on the opportunity to score runs as he was out for a duck. His lack of runs meant Rohit Sharma moved ahead of his former captain in the ICC World Cup 2023 Most Runs list.
England batters meanwhile continued to live through a nightmare at the World Cup as they were all out for the fourth time this fall in India. Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Joe Root all failed to click on the day as England have no slumped to their fifth defeat in six games and are staring at an early exit from the semifinal run.
