Earlier on Monday, Azmatullah Omarzai (73*), Rahmat Shah (62) and Hashmatullah Shahidi (58*) played special knocks in another memorable win at the ICC World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka. Afghanistan batting unit has been a surprise package in India with as many as five matters scoring over 200 runs at the wicket in what has been a unified batting show.
For Sri Lanka, Pathum Nissanka (46), Kusal Mendis (39) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (36) added some runs to their total with the latest also becoming the only Lankan batter to score 331 runs. Nissanka is not to far behind at 289 runs.
