Who is the highest wicket-taker in World Cup 2023: The race for the most wickets is getting heated up as the ICC World Cup 2023 is moving towards the closing stages of the round-robin. It's the big match on Sunday (October 28 ) as India vs England is slated.

The match will see some of the Golden Ball contenders from the Indian team with a focus on pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken 11 wickets while Mohammed Shami made a fresh challenge with five wickets in his first game of the ICC World Cup 2023. We take a look at the most wicket-taker list:

England's leading wicket-taker Reece Topley (8 wickets) is already out of the tournament following an injury while fielding. The rest of their bowlers have struggled to take wickets with Mark Wood being the next best in the list with just three wickets.

Earlier on Saturday, some of the leading wicket-takers were in action. Adam Zampa, who took his best spell of the tournament (4/8) against the Netherlands in the game before, took further three wickets to sit atop the table with 16 scalps.

Two of the Kiwi bowlers in the race, Mitchell Santner (2 wickets) and Matt Henry (1), continued their wicket-taking on a belter with over 700 runs scoring a high-scoring thriller. Trent Boult was the top Kiwi performer with three wickets while giving away 77 runs.

In the other match of the day, Bangladesh vs Netherlands, Bas de Leede (11 wickets) entered the top 10 in the most wicket-taker list with a spell of 2/25 while Paul van Meekeren was the standout performer with 4 wickets. He rose to 11th place with 10 wickets in six games. Their efforts saw Bangladesh bundled out for just 142 runs while defending 230.
