Earlier on Monday, Dilshan Madushanka kept himself in the battle for the most wickets at the ICC World Cup 2023. The pacer took two wickets to take his overall tally to 13 wickets but couldn't stop Afghanistan from chasing down a target of 242. Rest of the Lankan bowlers struggled to take wickets as the Afghans won the game by seven wickets.
In the first innings, Fazalhaq Farooqi (6 wickets in World Cup 2023) took four wickets to lay late claim in the race for most wickets but Rashid Khan remains the top wicket-taker of Afghanistan with seven dismissals to his name.
