Who is Mukul Choudhary?

Mukul Choudhary is a promising Indian cricketer born on August 6, 2004. A right-handed wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, he plays domestic cricket for his state and represents Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. Coming from Jhunjhunu in the Sikar district, Mukul has been the first of his kind from his place.

He was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the IPL 2026 mini-auction for this amount. His base price was ₹30 lakh, but a competitive bidding war, with strong interest from Rajasthan Royals and others, drove his final price up to ₹2.60 crore after 28 bids.

Early Career

Choudhary debuted in first-class cricket on January 17, 2023, during the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy. His List A debut came on December 24, 2025, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He operates as an aggressive middle-order finisher, excelling in death overs with a T20 domestic strike rate of 162-165

Initially a medium-fast bowler, he switched to wicketkeeping and gained attention for his aggressive middle-order batting and powerful hitting, boasting a striking strike rate of over 165 in domestic T20s. His explosive performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, including match-winning knocks, sparked a bidding war among franchises. At just 21, Choudhary's journey-from his father's early dreams to professional success-marks him as a rising talent with immense potential in Indian cricket.

"We had a U19 match against UP. I scored a top innings in that match and he keeps on saying to me that he believed in my ability since then," Mukul said after the match.

The youngster also played his second match under lights at Eden Gardens and said that he had the belief in himself to win the match.
