India handed a debut to 20-year-old legspinner Priya Mishra against New Zealand in the second ODI of the series on Sunday (October 27).
Priya Mishra thus became the 147th player to dawn the Blue jersey for India in the ODIs.

Priya Mishra was born on June 4, 2004 and has represented Delhi women in domestic cricket. From a young age, Mishra's cricketing prowess was evident, making waves in the cricket community with her impressive outings for Delhi. Her breakthrough came during the 2023-24 Senior Women's One-Day Trophy, where she was a standout performer with 23 wickets. These performances not only put her in the spotlight but also secured her a spot in the 2024 Women's Premier League, where the Gujarat Giants acquired her services.
Mishra didn't feature for Gujarat Giants in the WPL but her recent performances for India A against Australia A paved her way to the senior India team. She picked up five wickets in a list A match against Australia A, then scalped six more wickets in the Test.
During her first appearance at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat, Mishra showcased her skills by claiming the wicket of Brooke Halliday. Moreover, her agility on the field was on full display as she played a pivotal role in the run-out of Lauren Down.
