On the second day of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Punjab Kings nabbed the Delhi-based emerging talent Priyansh Arya for a lump sum amount of Rs. 3.80 crores after a long bidding war with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Priyansh Arya, the 23-year-old left-handed all-rounder, was grouped into Set 38 along with a few other uncapped all-rounders. He entered the auction with a base price of Rs. 30 lakhs, but after the end of the bidding, he emerged as one of the most expensive lesser-known emerging Indian talents.

Priyansh Arya, a talented 23-year-old left-handed batter from Delhi, has taken the cricketing world by storm with his extraordinary performances in the Delhi Premier League 2024. Playing for the South Delhi Superstarz, Arya has demonstrated his ability to dominate bowlers with fearless aggression and remarkable consistency. His innings of 120 runs off just 50 balls, during which he smashed six sixes in a single over, became a defining moment of the tournament and highlighted his potential as one of India’s emerging cricketing stars.

Arya’s journey began with the India A Under-19 team in 2019, where he displayed glimpses of his talent against international opponents. He made his T20 debut for Delhi in 2021, gradually honing his skills and gaining valuable experience. However, it was the DPL where he truly came into his own, amassing over 576 runs at a staggering average of 96, including two centuries. His ability to score quickly and consistently, coupled with his composure under pressure, has turned him into a standout performer.
