Royal Challengers Bangalore's WPL 2024 journey has started on Saturday against UP Warriorz and Sabbhineni Meghana made a crucial contribution with the bat.

The Indian batter came to the crease at no. 3 after the fall of Sophie Devine, and has played a superb knock for them. Sabbhineni Meghana hit some clean shots and looked a class apart against a strong UP Warriorz bowling unit. She has scored a half-century in her RCB debut, which is also her first in the WPL.

Sabbhineni Meghana is an Indian batter who has already represented India in T20 and ODI formats. Born in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Sabbineni Meghana has carved a niche for herself in the world of cricket as a formidable right-handed top-order batter.

With a career punctuated by significant milestones, Meghana's journey in cricket is a narrative of talent, determination, and success. Her role in the Indian national team, especially in clinching victories in the Women's T20 Asia Cup in both 2016 and 2022 epitomizes the class of the player.

In the 2021-22 Women's Senior One Day Trophy, Meghana's batting talent shone brightly as she emerged as the tournament's highest run-scorer. Compiling an impressive tally of 388 runs, her scoreboard featured a century and two half-centuries, a testament to her consistency and prowess at the crease.

Sabbhineni Meghana had a disappointing WPL 2023 with Gujarat Giants. She only managed 81 runs across six matches and was released by them. Meghana's move to RCB has been a success as she has already made a significant improvement, scoring her highest WPL score and the first 50 in WPL.

Meghana got dismissed only after scoring 53 runs and helping RCB steer in the right direction from a troubled state.

Meghana has proved her mettle and can become a vital component of RCB and the Indian Women's team in coming days. Her experience, coupled with her consistent ability to deliver with the bat, makes her an invaluable asset.
