Who is Sibin Gireesh? Malappuram-born All-Rounder Goes Most Expensive in KCL 2026 Auction
Sibin Gireesh has emerged as one of Kerala's most promising young all-rounders. The 27-year-old is an all-rounder has showcased his talent prominently in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL).

And on Saturday (July 11), Gireesh emerged as the most expensive player as he was picked up by Alleppey Ripples for a massive Rs 11.80 lakh in the KCL auction. He played for Thrissur Titans last season but will be wearing the colours of Ripples this year.
Who is Sibin Gireesh?
Born on 21 October 1998, Sibin hails from Malappuram in Kerala. His early exposure came through local tournaments, where he represented Malappuram in events such as the NSK Trophy, laying a solid foundation for his professional aspirations.
His dual skills as a versatile batsman capable of batting in the top or middle order and a disciplined bowler have defined his style from the outset. Sibin represents the growing pool of multi-dimensional talents nurturing Kerala's cricket ecosystem.
The second season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL 2025) proved to be Sibin Gireesh's platform for recognition. Representing the Thrissur Titans, he delivered several match-winning performances that highlighted his ability to perform under pressure.
In a key encounter against Alleppey Ripples last year, Sibin produced a clinical spell of 4 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. His victims included influential batters such as captain Muhammad Azharuddeen, Abhishek P. Nair, Akshay T.K., and Balu Babu.
Just days later, he repeated the feat with another impressive haul of 4/16 against the same side, dismantling the middle and lower order (including wickets of Muhammad Kaif, Akshay T.K., Muhammad Inan, and Muhammad Nazil). These performances elevated him to third position in the KCL wicket-takers list and cemented his reputation as a strike bowler who can swing matches. Sibin has also featured for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2025.
