Simarjeet Singh has struck twice for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday (March 23).
After scoring 286 runs with the bat, the SRH have started in sublime fashion with the ball courtesy of Simarjeet Singh.

The lanky pacer troubled Yashasvi Jaiswal with his bounce and then got his wicket. A couple of balls later, Simarjeet has sent RR captain Riyan Parag back to the stands as he surprised him with another short delivery.
Simarjeet Singh was born on January 17, 1998 in Delhi. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler known for his ability to generate pace and movement. Having made a name for himself in domestic cricket, he has steadily risen through the ranks to establish himself as a promising fast bowler in the IPL.
Simarjeet made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018 and followed it up with his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy later that year. His ability to clock speeds above 140 km/h made him a crucial part of Delhi's bowling attack. His performances in domestic cricket soon caught the attention of IPL franchises.
Initially, Simarjeet joined Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement but didn't get a chance to make his debut. In 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured his services at the IPL auction. Playing under MS Dhoni's leadership, he featured in 10 matches across two seasons, picking up 9 wickets at an economy rate of 8.63. His ability to bowl with pace and control made him a handy option for CSK's bowling attack.
In the 2025 IPL auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad invested in Simarjeet, acquiring him for Rs 1.50 crore. With SRH known for backing promising fast bowlers, this move has already started to provide results for the Orange Army
