He rose to prominence after a strong showing in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup, taking seven wickets at an average of 19.85, including a three-wicket haul against Pakistan, which helped India win the tournament.​

Mishra debuted in List A cricket for Jharkhand on December 8, 2021, against Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His first-class debut came in February 2022 during the Ranji Trophy against Chhattisgarh, where he claimed six wickets across both innings despite the loss.
