The IPL 2026 auction list is set to be released in the coming days. Ahead of that, the reports have indicated a list of 1,355 players who have registered for the auction.
Amid the list of players, a Malaysian player, named Virandeep Singh, has also named himself in the list.

Virandeep Singh, born on March 23, 1999, captains Malaysia's cricket team as a dynamic right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He debuted in T20Is against Thailand on June 24, 2019, becoming the youngest male cricketer to lead in such a match at 20 years and 190 days during a series against Vanuatu.
Virandeep rose through youth ranks, captaining Malaysia at the 2016 Under-19 Asia Cup and featuring in the 2017 ICC World Cricket League Division Three. He shone in the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier, topping Malaysia's run charts with 165 runs across five matches, and earned a spot in the 2018-19 ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. His List A debut came against Denmark in the 2019 World Cup Challenge League A, where he led Malaysia's scoring with 181 runs in five games.
In T20Is, Virandeep has played over 100 matches, amassing 3,075 runs at a strike rate of 127.65 with a highest of 116*, alongside 98 wickets at an economy of 5.72, recently becoming the first to reach 3,000 runs and 100 wickets. He captained Malaysia in key events like the SEA Games, securing medals, and competed at the 2022 Asian Games.
