ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Semi-finals: New Zealand officially qualified for the World Cup 2023 semi-final and joined India, Australia and South Africa in the list on Saturday, November 11.

Pakistan were in the race for semi-finals until their last league match against England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. To pip New Zealand for a berth, Pakistan had to not just beat England but beat by a 287-run margin while batting first.

Pakistan faced the first major setback when England won the toss and opted to bat first and post a mammoth 338-run target.

To qualify, Pakistan had to gun down the target in 6.4 overs, however 30 runs is all they could manage from their first 40 deliveries of their batting innings.

World Cup 2023 semi-finals line-up

Table-toppers India will now face fourth placed New Zealand in the recap fo 2019 World Cup semi-final. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 15.

Australia will face South Africa in the second semi-final which will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday, November 16. The two sides will be clashing against each other a World Cup semi-final for the third time including the famous 1999 World Cup semi-final.
