The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be co-hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), following a hybrid hosting arrangement to navigate political and logistical challenges. While Pakistan is the primary host, all matches involving India, including potential knockout games, will be played in the UAE.
Three key stadiums were selected in the beginning in Pakistan where the matches are set to be held. To host the tournament, marks a significant moment for Pakistan as the country prepares to host its first ICC event in 29 years.

Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore: This iconic venue is expected to host the grand final unless India qualifies, in which case the match may move to Dubai. Renovation work is ongoing, but videos circulating online reveal incomplete progress, raising concerns about its readiness.
National Stadium, Karachi: One of Pakistan's premier cricketing venues, the stadium is undergoing extensive upgrades to meet ICC standards.
Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium: Various reports in the media say that this stadium could lose their hosting rights. However, despite concerns about its infrastructure, PCB officials remain confident about its preparedness for the event.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) undertook extensive renovation efforts at these venues to ensure they meet international standards. They allocated PKR 12.8 billion to renovate these stadiums. However, delays and logistical challenges have raised questions about the readiness.
Dubai International Stadium (UAE): To accommodate India's matches, the Dubai International Stadium has been chosen as the neutral venue. All of India's group-stage matches, including the highly anticipated clash against Pakistan, will be played here. Additionally, if India qualifies for the knockout stages, one semifinal and possibly the final will also be held in Dubai.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 probable dates include kick-off on February 19. India may face Bangladesh on February 20, Pakistan on February 23, and New Zealand on March 2, all in Dubai. Semifinals could be held on March 4 (UAE, if India qualifies) and March 5 (Pakistan), with the final on March 9 in Lahore or the UAE, depending on India's qualification.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 marks a significant milestone for Pakistan as it hosts an ICC event after nearly three decades. However, India's refusal to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns led to the hybrid hosting arrangement. Under this agreement, ICC events hosted by India until 2027 will also see Pakistan's matches played at neutral venues.
