BCCI secretary Jay Shah is poised to become the next ICC Chairman as he looks set to replace Greg Barclay. However, it remains uncertain who will succeed him as BCCI secretary if he transitions to the ICC.
Shah has less than 96 hours to decide, as the deadline for filing an official nomination is August 27, and if he is elected, the Indian will chair ICC from December 1. The BCCI secretary is currently in the running for the role and as per reports, 15 out of 16 members are set to back him.

With BCCI secretary post opening up, Jay Shah's move to ICC will require a replacement at the apex body of Indian cricket. Here are a few names who can replace Jay Shah as secretary of BCCI.
Rajiv Shukla, currently serving as BCCI vice-president and a Congress MP in Rajya Sabha, might be asked to step in for one year. Shukla would likely welcome the role since vice presidents in BCCI often have limited influence.
Another candidate is Ashish Shelar, a prominent figure in Maharashtra BJP and current BCCI treasurer. Although Shelar is a seasoned politician, the demanding nature of the secretary role might be a consideration.
Arun Dhumal, IPL Chairman and former treasurer, also has the experience needed to manage the board. And he can also be replaced in as the next secretary.
DDCA's Rohan Jaitley, CAB's Avishek Dalmiya, Dilsher Khanna, Vipul Phadke, and Prabhtej Bhatia are also potential candidates. But the historical appointments suggest that that BCCI may not bring in any new names and may look to replace Jay Shah with an experienced candidate.
