Nicholas Pooran was a one-man army, delivering a power-hitting masterclass with a blistering 70. His aggressive batting dismantled SRH’s bowling attack, particularly targeting Adam Zampa and Simarjeet Singh. Pooran’s rapid 18-ball half-century, the fastest in IPL 2025, ensured LSG chased down 191 with ease. Despite late strikes from Pat Cummins, the damage was irreparable. Mitchell Marsh’s 52 and Shardul Thakur’s four-wicket haul also played key roles in LSG’s emphatic first victory of the season.
LSG secured their first IPL 2025 victory, but the defining moment came early when Shardul Thakur dismissed in-form Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma in successive deliveries. His double strike in the third over disrupted SRH’s explosive batting plans, limiting them to 190/9.
Though Nicholas Pooran later stole the show with a blistering 70 off 26 balls, Thakur’s early breakthroughs set the tone for LSG’s dominance. Ishan came into the match on the back of a century, while Abhishek had been consistently firing runs at the top. Mitchell Marsh’s steady contribution and Abdul Samad’s finishing touch ensured LSG chased the target comfortably with 23 balls to spare.
While Nicholas Pooran stole the limelight, rookie pacer Prince Yadav played a crucial role in LSG’s triumph over SRH. The young bowler delivered a game-changing moment by dismissing the dangerous Travis Head for 47 off 28 balls just as he was gearing up for an explosive finish.
Prince didn’t stop there, as a bit of fortune allowed him to run out Heinrich Klaasen, who was batting on 26 off 17 and posed a serious threat. His double strike derailed SRH’s momentum, ensuring they fell short of a massive total. In a match dominated by big names, Prince’s brilliance proved pivotal as he gave away just 29 runs in his four overs.
