PBKS vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a commanding performance on Friday to seal their place in the final after a nine-year wait, thrashing Punjab Kings (PBKS) by eight wickets with a staggering 10 overs to spare.
The win was set up by their bowlers, who dismantled PBKS for just 101 runs, and then sealed by a blistering knock from Phil Salt, who smashed 56 off 27 balls.

With both teams having registered one win each against the other in the league stage and showing similar form throughout the season-including finishing level on points and nearly identical net run rates-this match was expected to be a nail-biter. Instead, it turned into a one-sided affair, with RCB asserting complete dominance.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, RCB wasted no time in making inroads. Priyansh Arya was sent back in the second over, and PBKS never really recovered.
Prabhsimran Singh tried to take the aggressive route but fell quickly, leaving the score at 27. What followed was a rapid collapse-Shreyas Iyer, Josh Inglis, Nehal Wadhera, and Shashank Singh all fell for single-digit scores. By the 9th over, the scoreboard read a dismal 60 for 6.
In a desperate move, PBKS brought in debutant Musheer Khan as their impact batter, but his maiden outing was forgettable as he was dismissed for a duck. Marcus Stoinis and Azmatullah Omarzai attempted a brief resistance, but the total remained sub-par.
Josh Hazlewood, returning from injury, and young spinner Suyash Sharma were the standouts with three wickets apiece, supported ably by the rest of the bowling attack.
RCB skipper Rajat Patidar handled his resources smartly, making proactive decisions like finishing Yash Dayal's spell early and bringing Hazlewood back to wrap things up by the 15th over. Hazlewood obliged, taking the final wicket of Omarzai, thanks to a spectacular one-handed grab by keeper Jitesh Sharma, one of the highlights of the night.
Chasing just 102, RCB made their intentions clear from the start. Openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt added 30 runs in quick time before Kohli edged one behind off Kyle Jamieson. The same over saw Jamieson troubling Mayank Dagar, but Salt remained unfazed at the other end. He tore into the PBKS attack, reaching his half-century in just 23 deliveries.
Though Musheer Khan managed to dismiss Mayank with his part-time spin, it was a mere delay. RCB crossed the finish line in the 10th over, with their regular captain-back at full fitness-launching a six to end proceedings in style.
RCB will now enjoy a four-day rest before the title clash on Tuesday, waiting to see who will join them in the final. PBKS, meanwhile, must regroup quickly. They'll feature in Qualifier 2 on Sunday, facing the winner of Saturday's Eliminator between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.
While the defeat was heavy, PBKS can draw confidence from the fact that they haven't lost back-to-back matches this season-a positive they'll hope to build on as they aim to return to the final after an 11-year gap.
