Why IPL bettors Guru, Vindoo happy even after going to jail

Mumbai, June 3: Gurunath Meiyappan and Vindoo Dara Singh, who have been sent to judicial custody till June 14, must be relieved now. The duo, who were arrested over their alleged roles in IPL spot fixing scandal, finally can apply for bail.

A court on Monday, June 3 rejected plea of Mumbai Police who urged to extend their police custody. The duo are likely to be sent to Arthur Road Jail in Central Mumbai.

The country was shocked when Mumbai Police arrested BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Guru, who was known as the CEO of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Guru, during his initial interrogation, told police that Vindoo lured him to place bets on IPL matches and he lost money in the recently concluded season of the league.

Guru was arrested following Vindoo's statements. Vindoo, son of late Bollywood actor Dara Singh, was the winner of TV reality show Bigg Boss. He allegedly was in touch with many bookies and allegedly had supplied escorts to many cricketers.
