Why is Dhanashree Verma not attending IPL 2024 matches of husband Yuzvendra Chahal?

Dhanashree Verma, the wife of Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, has not been seen attending many IPL matches this year. The 27-year-old has made her presence felt at the stadiums ever since marrying the Indian cricketer in 2020.

The previous seasons of the IPL have seen Dhanashree Verma actively post her pictures and video while supporting Rajasthan Royals from the stadiums. A video of Dhanashree dancing with Chahal and his Rajasthan teammate Jos Buttler had gone viral on social media in 2022.

The wives and partners of several other Rajasthan players have been spotted sitting in the family box and rooting for the 2008 champions. However, the continued absence of Dhanashree Verma has left fans thinking about her whereabouts.

Dhanashree recently faced a massive backlash after posing 'too closely' for a picture with a choreographer. The picture was taken during the finale part of 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 11’ where Dhanashree was a contestant and finished in the top five.

Following the massive trolling, Dhanashree Verma took a short break from social media and returned with an appeal to spread love, and think before making demeaning remarks.

"I have never in my life been affected by trolls or memes. This definitely had a lot of maturity or ignoring or laughing it out loud until this very recent troll occurred. The reason it has affected me this time is because it has affected my family and my near and dear ones," she said in a video.

Why is Dhanashree Verma not attending IPL 2024 matches?

Dhanshree Verma might not be attending the matches to avoid unnecessary trolls, and allow her husband Yuzvendra Chahal to play his games without any unnecessary social media attention. Notably, trolls have also taken digs at Chahal while having a go at Dhanashree.

The other reason could be Dhanashree Verma's busy work life. She has been busy with promotions of her video song 'Kamsin Kali' from the movie 'LSD 2' which released on April 19. She was recently spotted at the screening of the movie directed by Dibakar Banerjee.

Dhanashree Verma recently congratulated Yuzvendra Chahal for playing in his 150th IPL match. She called herself Chahal's biggest cheerleader in a video posted by Rajasthan Royals .

"Hey Yuzi, congratulations for your 150th IPL match today also. I have said this before also and I'll say this today also, congratulations. We are super proud of you and the way you have contributed all these years to your previous team and now Rajasthan Royals," Dhanashree Verma said.

"I am sure they are super proud of how you play your game and every time you come back with a bang, we all love you for that. Believe in your craft. We all are there to support you always. I'm your biggest cheerleader. Enjoy today's match. The 150th match," RR spinner's wife Dhanashree Verma said in a video posted by Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Royals are currently the number one ranked team in the IPL 2024 after winning six of their first seven matches. Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far. He has picked 12 wickets at an average of 18.08.
