In a big shift in the domestic cricket landscape, Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to move away from Mumbai, the team that nurtured him.
As per reports from The Indian Express, Jaiswal is looking to play for Goa from the next season.

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old India opener sent an email to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) requesting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to facilitate his switch. Sources in the MCA confirmed the request and said Jaiswal has cited "personal reasons" for his decision. People close to him have also corroborated the development and said his intention to join Goa is serious.
This is a new chapter in Jaiswal's journey - a journey that began on the streets of Mumbai and has already seen him reach international heights. Goa, who have made it to the knockout stages this season, seem like a good destination and Jaiswal will be following the path already trodden by players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad.
Jaiswal has been part of the Mumbai cricket structure since his U-19 days but his appearances in domestic cricket have been sporadic in recent times. Last season, under the BCCI's directive for contracted players to play domestic cricket when not on national duty, he played for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy game against Jammu and Kashmir. It wasn't a memorable outing with the bat, scoring 4 and 26 in two innings.
Leadership Aspirations: Jaiswal has already proven his mettle at the highest level. Now, with Goa, he might get the leadership role and responsibility that a star-studded Mumbai side couldn't offer. And with Goa's recent performances showing promise, it might just be the platform he needs to further establish himself. The Indian player must have leadership dreams and Goa can be a perfect pathway for his blossoming as a captain.

More Opportunities and Less Scrutiny: Also, the star-studded Mumbai team has enough quality and Jaiswal may not find enough chances if he goes through a rough patch. While in Goa, the opportunities are a lot more abundant and the southpaw may get the chance to evolve himself both as a player and as a future captain. Furthermore, playing for a team such as Goa will mean less scrutiny and pressure from the media, which is not the case for Mumbai. Hence, that may well be another reason for his departure.
He is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 and will be hoping to register a fruitful season, which will play a part in his India future.
