KL Rahul finds himself amidst a swirl of speculation in the IPL world despite the recent gloom of missing out on the T20 World Cup.
The Lucknow Super Giants captain couldn't make the cut in the Indian team for the showpiece event in the West Indies and USA.

But there is a speculation that is hurling around which states that KL Rahul is gaining interest from Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who are lining up for a move for the player ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
Rahul is leading LSG for the third season running but has a huge affinity for a return to RCB, which he recently stated during a podcast with Ravichandran Ashwin. The player mentioned representing RCB is an emotion and said he is a Karnataka player before anything.
Amid this, report from CricBlogger states that KL Rahul may have a dream return to RCB next season as the teams prepare for changes in the potential mega auction.
RCB's intention to bring Rahul into their fold could herald a significant shift for both parties involved.
The Lucknow Super Giants, Rahul's current team, are also looking to retain their core players ahead of the mega auction. His leadership at LSG has not gone unnoticed, with his strategic acumen making him a sought-after player, not just by RCB but potentially by other teams if he were to enter the auction pool.
Hence RCB will have to strike a deal with LSG to bring KL Rahul via a trade after the retention announcement. It will be another tricky part for both parties. The Indian batter earns Rs. 17 crore at Lucknow and it is to be seen if RCB are happy to spend that amount. But as per the current notions, they will be more than happy to pay that amount.
The internal dynamics of LSG, with coach Justin Langer aiming to keep the core team stable, add another layer of complexity to Rahul's potential move.
The simple reason behind RCB's longing for Rahul is due to the fact that they want a leader at the franchise. The experiment with Faf du Plessis has been more of a miss than a hit and with Virat Kohli not at the helm anymore, they need an Indian captain.
Rahul fits in the role perfectly. He has been leading IPL franchises, has led India in some matches and his connection to Karnataka makes him the right person to take over the RCB reign for next four to five years.
