West Indies have named a strong T20I squad for the upcoming matches against England. The Caribbean boys won a historical ODI series against England but now the focus has shifted to the shortest version of the game.
Kolkata Knight Riders star Andre Russell has returned to the fray after two years ahead of the T20 World Cup in 2024. The hard-hitting all-rounder will be playing in the upcoming series against England.

Along with Russell, former RCB player Sherfane Rutherford has also been recalled after a three-year hiatus. The return of the duo has significantly bolstered the West Indies squad who aim to resurrect their international status in the upcoming T20 World Cup at home.
The two-time 50-over World Cup Champions failed to qualify for the World Cup 2023 and will be aiming to show their prowess in the T20 format.
Rovman Powell has been named the captain of the West Indies team while Shai Hope is going to deputize him. Along with them, Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers and Shimron Hetmyer have also made a return to the side ahead of this series.
"This will be the final home T20I series for the West Indies in 2023, as they prepare to be one of the two host teams for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA in June 2024. We have selected a squad that we think gives us the best chance of success in that tournament. We will continue to assess in the lead-up to the competition," West Indies selector Desmond Hayes said.
The five-match T20I series starts from December 12 in Barbados and will continue till December 21.
