"Wife much more important than any Test century," says Pietersen

By Super Admin

London, Oct 2(ANI): England batsman Kevin Pietersen has revealed that his wife was furious over a comment made by him last year, where he said that hitting 100 runs for the country was better than sex.

Pietersen said that his wife, Jessica Taylor, " wasn't happy" about his comment "Centuries don't come round very often, whereas sex is on tap, isn't it?"

"I said to her, 'Darling, you've just got to compare the statistics, I've got 16 Test hundreds and seven in one-day matches. But, she wasn't pleased and I've since revised my view. For the record, my wife is much more important to me than any Test century," The Sun quoted Pietersen, as saying.

Pietersen further said that he is slowly recovering from his injury, which is a bit frustrating for him to handle, but after five years of no-stop cricket, he feels that it's been quite nice to recharge the batteries.

"I'm getting better. The surgeon says the wound on my leg is about two weeks away from being completely healed over. Then I can get myself ready and right to play again, which hopefully will be in November in South Africa - fingers crossed," Pietersen said.

"That's what I'm trying my hardest to get back for. I'm doing a lot of strength training on my upper body and my left leg, but at the moment my right leg is out of bounds. I hope I'll be fit in time but you never know. Your body heals in the time it wants to heal itself so it's just a waiting game," he added. (ANI)
