The Indian cricket team, led by skipper Rohit Sharma, arrived in Adelaide today to gear up for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The high-stakes pink-ball Test, starting December 6, follows India's commanding 295-run victory in Perth.
The much-needed win for team India surely set the tone for the five-match series. Adding to the team's preparations is the return of head coach Gautam Gambhir, who had temporarily left the squad for personal reasons.

Gambhir Back in Action
As per reports, Gambhir, who left Australia after the first Test on November 26 is now flowing back to Australia to rejoin the team. As per an ESPNCricinfo report, a BCCI source stated, "Gambhir has informed us that he will be travelling back home" - when Gambhir left after the 1st Test.
The source also informed that Gambhir will be back before the 2nd Test begins. "He will join the team before the start of the second Test. He has cited personal reasons, and the BCCI has accepted his request", the source iterated.
During his absence, the coaching duties were ably handled by assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, alongside bowling coach Morne Morkel. Despite the disruption, the team maintained its focus, securing a six-wicket win against Australia's PM XI in a warm-up match.
Team Arrives in Adelaide
The Indian contingent received a warm reception from fans in Canberra before heading to Adelaide. Players, including Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Siraj, took time to interact with supporters, underscoring their growing connection with fans.
Rohit's return as captain has further boosted the team's morale. After missing the Perth Test due to the birth of his second child, Rohit rejoined the squad mid-match and later led India in the practice game. Under his leadership, India looks to extend their lead in the series.
Challenges Ahead
India faces the psychological challenge of overcoming their infamous 36-all-out collapse during the last pink-ball Test in Adelaide. With a 3-1 record in day-night Tests, the team is determined to rewrite history. Key players like Virat Kohli, fresh off a century in Perth, and Rohit will be pivotal in navigating the pink ball's unique challenges.
