Will LSG vs RCB in 2025 be Played Today after Dharamshala Match Called Off? Latest Update on IPL's Fate Revealed
After the midway cancellation of the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, questions have emerged over the fate of the Indian Premier League.
Amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the match at the HPCA stadium was called off on Thursday (May 8). Punjab Kings were batting on 122 for 1 in 10.1 overs when the match was forced to halt.

After Pakistan's attack in Jammu on Thursday evening, India took the decision to tighten security measures. As a result, a blackout took place in Dharamshala which meant a significant technical issue. Due to security measures, the spectators were asked to leave the stadium and the players were taken away to the hotel.
The intense situation at the Dharamshala may not be a one-off situation, as BCCI held an emergency meeting to determine IPL's future. The latest indication has been towards postponement of the tournament for now, which is mainly due to security measures. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, continuing IPL amid high alert in the country will be a logistical challenge.
IPL 2025: Will LSG vs RCB Match Be Played Today in Lucknow?
The match Today (Friday, May 9) between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium faces a significant issue. Although Lucknow is farther from the Indo-Pak border, issues across the country can erupt at any time.
Although both teams are currently in Lucknow, the decision to hold IPL fully will mean a de facto postponement of the match.
BCCI chairman Arun Dhumal mentioned that the match is on for now, but BCCI may lean towards a hiatus.
"Yes, it is on as of now, but obviously it is an evolving situation and any decision will be taken keeping the best interest of all stakeholders in mind," Dhumal was quoted as saying by PTI about the match today.
The BCCI is closely monitoring the developments and is in constant dialogue with the government. But the war state has also put significant pressure on BCCI to keep IPL on hold for now. The overseas players have bene pushing to stop the proceedings for now.
As the entire country awaits the official announcement, it won't be surprising if the IPL 2025 gets the negative nod for now.
